ORGANIC WASTE COLLECTION

ORGANIC WASTE COLLECTION

MATER-BI is biodegradable, compostable, and translucent. In addition, it is also resistant to humidity and pathogens. Collection bags made from MATER-BI are a key tool in the separate collection of organic waste.

MATER-BI bags turn into compost, thus increases the quality of collected organic material, keeping compost from being contaminated with conventional plastic. MATER-BI bags work well in any type of composting plants, from simple static piles to dynamic lanes.

When MATER-BI bags are used with vented kitchen collection bins, the combination (known as the system) minimizes the fermentation process responsible for unpleasant smells. The breathability of MATER-BI bags reduces condensation found with traditional non-vented bins, keeping the bottom of the bin dry.

In Italy, NOVAMONT pioneered innovative door-to-door organic waste collection systems in collaboration with customers and public administrators. This minimized the disposal of organic waste in landfills by diverting organic material to composters. Since the organic waste collected in the MATER-BI bag/vented bin system is dry and odor-free, collection is needed less frequently, saving municipal collection costs.

MATER-BI bags lead to environmental sustainability through greater efficiencies in the management and disposal of waste, with economic benefit for public administrators, treatment plants and consumers.
