Novamont North America Elected To The 2022 Executive Board of the U.S. Plastics Association’s Bioplastics Division

Dan Martens, Vice President of Novamont North America, has been elected as Chair on the 2022 Bioplastics Division Executive Board of the U.S. Plastics Industry Association. Additionally, in 2020, Dan was elected to their Board of Directors, notably making him the first bioplastics representative on the board.

The Bioplastics Division promotes bioplastics as an integral part of the plastics industry as a whole and supports beginning-of-life and end-of-life solutions for green technologies and products. They provide education and advice to the industry, federal, state and local governments and to the value chain. They also publish papers on degradable additives, recycling and composting as a comprehensive approach to sustainability, together with educational pieces on the greater topic of bioplastics.

Annually, the Bioplastics Division sponsors the popular and growing “Bioplastics Week,” as a virtual forum for understanding and promoting bioplastics.

The U.S. Plastics Industry Association was founded in 1937 and is the trade association for the entire plastics supply chain.  They have 12 councils, committees and divisions to monitor market trends, spearhead programs and lead projects.  They host more than 35 industry-leading events every year.
